New dosing schedule makes it easier to be protected from Japanese Encephalitis

Japanese Encephalitis (JE) is a mosquito transmitted illness that causes infection and swelling in the brain. It can lead to brain damage and death. Until now 2 doses 28 days apart were required 7 days before arrive to most parts of Asia where the disease can be found. Now the 2 doses can be given 7 days apart 7 days prior to travel to areas with Japanese Encephalitis. This schedule is currently only approved for adults.
